Laser hair removal treatment at Veduta Clinic, Gzira

Laser hair removal

The laser light passes through the skin without damaging its surface and is absorbed by the melanin in the hair. The hair bulb is destroyed and the follicle stops producing new hair. Because the laser only acts on hair in its active growth phase, 4 to 8 sessions at several week intervals bring a significant reduction of regrowing hair.

Free consultation

Before any first treatment, a patch test is done on a small area of skin to check your reaction and the level of irritation. The consultation is free, by phone booking.

From 10 euro per session

Popular areas

The treatment is non invasive and can be performed on any part of the body.

Laser pigmentation treatment

Pigmentation

Skin discoloration is most often caused by UV light. Laser therapy treats the pigmented skin without damaging the tissue around it, and the treated area gradually fades through exfoliation. Sessions are usually spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart, planned individually for each patient.

Treated by a cosmetologist, with a medical grade laser

Laser hair removal is the only method for the long term destruction of hair follicles, and it is the practitioner who decides whether your hair, your skin and your treatment plan are right for it. That judgement is what you are booking.

What a course of treatment looks like

No surprises: here is exactly how the sessions are spaced and why.

Consultation and patch test

A small area of skin is tested first so the reaction and the level of irritation can be checked. This consultation is free and is booked by calling the clinic.

Your first session

A few minutes after the patch test the treatment can be completed. A soothing gel is applied straight afterwards to minimise any discomfort.

Intervals of 4 to 12 weeks

The laser only destroys hair that is in its active growth phase, and hair does not all grow at the same time. The spacing between sessions is what makes the treatment work.

4 to 8 sessions in total

Repeating the treatment across the full cycle allows a significant reduction of the number of regrowing hair. The exact number depends on the area and on your hair.

Questions worth asking before you book

How many sessions will I need?

The laser only destroys hair that is in its active growth phase, and not all hair grows at the same time. Between 4 and 8 sessions at intervals of 4 to 12 weeks allows a significant reduction of the number of regrowing hair.

Will it work on my hair?

The best results are seen on dark, coarse hair, because the laser light is absorbed by the melanin in the hair. Thin hair can also be treated successfully by an experienced practitioner.

How much does a session cost?

Prices depend mainly on the area of the body treated and start at 10 euro per session for the upper lip. The consultation, which includes a patch test, is free.

What should I avoid before a session?

Do not come with a suntan. For a few weeks before the treatment, stop removing hair with methods that pull out the root, such as plucking or waxing. Phototoxic drugs such as tetracyclines and retinoids, including isotretinoin, must be avoided, as well as creams containing retinol or alpha hydroxy acids.

What happens after the treatment?

A soothing gel is applied straight after the session to minimise any discomfort. For a short while afterwards, avoid hot baths and showers, saunas, and cosmetics that exfoliate the epidermis.

Do you treat pigmentation as well?

Yes. Laser therapy targets pigmented skin without damaging the surrounding tissue. Sessions are usually spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart, and the number of sessions is decided individually for each patient.
